Family office services

Complex wealth requires deeper analysis.

WealthGen Advisors is an independent wealth management firm and a small multi-family office. We give families the coordination of a family office without the cost of building one.

How we are different

Most clients assume they getall three. Most do not.

Large institutions often promise independence, analysis and customization, then hand most households a model portfolio. We are small enough to do the work family by family.

Pillar 01

Independent advice

WealthGen is an independent registered investment adviser. There are no proprietary funds to place, no bank products to cross-sell and no sales quota sitting behind a recommendation.

Pillar 02

Rigorous analysis

Complex wealth requires deeper analysis. Every recommendation is modelled against your tax position, cash needs and estate plan, and the reasoning is written down so you can check it.

Pillar 03

Customization

We build around the holdings you already own, including low-basis stock, concentrated positions and tax-constrained accounts, instead of liquidating everything into a model portfolio.

Who we serveFamilies with roughly $2 million to $25 million, and the capacity to serve larger households.

Who it is for

Built for households whereevery decision touches another.

Family office services are for families whose finances have outgrown a single portfolio: more accounts, more people, more tax consequences and more professionals to keep in step.

  • Pre-retirees and retirees turning a lifetime of saving into a durable, tax-aware income
  • Business owners preparing for, or recently through, a sale or other liquidity event
  • Families receiving, or planning to pass on, inherited wealth
  • Multigenerational families who want one team across parents, children and grandchildren
  • Executives managing equity compensation and concentrated company stock

What we coordinate

One team across the whole balance sheet.

We lead the investment and planning work and coordinate directly with your CPA and estate attorney, so decisions are made together rather than in five separate offices.

Investment management

  • Portfolios built around existing holdings and their tax lots
  • Concentrated and low-basis position strategies
  • Asset location across taxable, IRA and Roth accounts
  • Consolidated reporting across custodians

Retirement income

  • Withdrawal sequencing and recreating the paycheck
  • Social Security claiming analysis
  • Medicare and IRMAA premium planning
  • Roth conversion modelling

Tax and estate coordination

  • Working directly with your CPA on multi-year tax planning
  • Working with your estate attorney on documents and trusts
  • Beneficiary and titling reviews
  • Charitable and gifting strategies

Family and transitions

  • Business sale and liquidity event planning
  • Inheritance planning and next-generation onboarding
  • Family meetings and financial education
  • Insurance and risk management review

Customization in practice

We start with what you own,not with a model portfolio.

Many firms move every new client into the same allocation and treat the tax bill as a cost of doing business. Real portfolios rarely allow that: low-basis stock, inherited positions, concentrated company shares and taxable accounts each carry constraints.

Our team has spent careers managing portfolios with exactly those constraints. We map each holding, its cost basis and its role in your plan, then transition deliberately, sometimes over several tax years, rather than all at once.

Family office or RIA?

Three structures, and whymost families land in the middle.

A true single-family office is a dial you can turn very high. Below roughly $50 million, and often above it when wealth is tied up in a private company, the cost rarely makes sense.

Traditional wealth management

Investments first

Portfolio management with financial planning attached. A good fit for many households, but tax, estate and family decisions are often left for you to coordinate.

Multi-family office

Coordinated, shared

One team coordinates investments, retirement income, tax, estate and family planning for a limited number of families, sharing the expertise and cost a single family office would carry alone.

Single-family office

Dedicated, expensive

A private staff working for one family: often a chief investment officer, accountants, attorneys and administrators. Salaries alone can reach well into six or seven figures a year.

Not every WealthGen client needs family office services. Many families work with us as a wealth management and planning firm, and the scope of each engagement is set out in its advisory agreement.

Where advice comes from

Know how your advisor is paid.

Nearly every firm now describes itself as independent. The clearer test is structure: the fewer ways an advisor can be paid beyond your advisory fee, the fewer conflicts sit behind the advice.

  1. Insurance companies

Advice is typically paired with the company's own insurance and annuity products, often paid by commission.

  2. Bank private client groups

Planning can sit alongside lending, deposits and proprietary bank products.

  3. Wirehouse brokerages

Large brokerages that may earn commissions and offer in-house funds alongside advisory accounts.

  4. Hybrid broker-dealers

Independent advisors who can charge advisory fees and also sell commissioned products.

  5. Independent RIAs

Registered investment advisers paid through disclosed advisory fees rather than product sales.

  6. Multi-family offices

An independent advisory structure that adds the coordination of a family office.

These descriptions are general and individual firms vary. Ask any advisor, including us, for their Form ADV and a plain explanation of every way they are compensated.
