Ken Hargreaves
CFP®, AIF®, AWMA®, CRPC®
Founder, Wealth Manager
Ken founded WealthGen Advisors, LLC after spending more than fourteen years in the financial advisory industry. During that time, he witnessed a wide variation of technology, expertise and advice models that didn’t always put the client first or optimize their financial situation. WealthGen Advisors was created to provide high-tech, high-quality, independent, and personalized advice that taps into the most up-to-date investment philosophies, income distribution, and tax mitigation strategies to optimize client outcomes. All this, delivered in a low-fee, commission-free atmosphere, that puts the clients’ interest above all things.
Prior to founding WealthGen Advisors, Ken spent almost a decade in New York and then Texas as Vice President at The Capital Group, a $2T global investment manager serving institutional clients and pension funds. He also served as director to a registered investment advisory firm in Florida, where he specialized in managing investments, family and small business financial planning, and retirement income optimization analysis and strategy. Ken is a frequent speaker on Financial Planning topics and has served on the board of directors for the New York City Financial Planning Association. He is a member of the Investments and Wealth Institute (IWI), Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Ken earned a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning, the originator of the CFP® program and earned a B.S. in Finance, from Florida State University. He has completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst Program through Yale School of Management, received his Certified Financial Planner®, Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, Accredited Wealth Management Advisor®, and Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor® designations. Ken was also honored as the recipient of the 40 Under 40 by the Tampa Bay Business Observer’s 2022 Class.
On a personal note, Ken is deeply rooted in the Sarasota community; he and his wife are proud parents to two young sons, his parents are local business owners, and he’s an active member of both the Sarasota and Manatee Chambers of Commerce.
