Meet the Team

Ken Hargreaves founded WealthGen Advisors, LLC after more than seventeen years in the financial advisory industry. Over that time, he witnessed a wide range of technology, expertise, and advice models that didn’t always put the client first or fully optimize financial outcomes. WealthGen Advisors was established in Sarasota, Florida to deliver high-tech, high-quality, independent advice grounded in modern investment philosophy, tax-aware planning, and income optimization strategies—all within a low-fee, commission-free fiduciary model.

 

Prior to founding WealthGen Advisors, Ken spent nearly a decade in New York and Texas as a Vice President at The Capital Group, a $2T global investment manager serving institutional clients and pension funds. He later served as a director at a Florida-based registered investment advisory firm, specializing in investment management, family and small business financial planning, and retirement income strategy.

 

Ken is a frequent speaker on financial planning topics and has served on the board of directors for the New York City Financial Planning Association. He is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (IWI), Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).

 

He earned a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University. Ken has completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst® program through the Yale School of Management and holds the CFP®, AIF®, AWMA®, and CRPC® designations. He was honored as a 40 Under 40 recipient by the Tampa Bay Business Observer (2022) and serves as both chair and advisory board member for the USF Sarasota-Manatee College of Business, as well as on the advisory board for the USF Muma College of Business.

 

On a personal note, Ken is deeply rooted in the Sarasota community. He and his wife are proud parents to two young sons, his parents are local business owners, and he is an active member of both the Sarasota and Manatee Chambers of Commerce.
